The Day After Paris

Offensive to God?

   Most journalism today deals with what happened.
   Rather than why it happened.
   Or what it means.
   This is certainly the case in news coverage of events in the Middle East  where the American news media has divided the Middle East into Good Guys versus Doers of Evil.
   Or Black Hats and White.
   But then news "consumers" are most comfortable with reality as a Manichean battle between Good and Evil.
   Thus President George W. Bush was able to label the architects of 9-11 as "Evil Doers" in a war against the Forces of Good.
   And even more insane?
   President George W's use of 9-11 to justify America's invasion of Iraq* - at a cost of billions of dollars and millions dead or wounded.
   Even though Iraq played no role in the attack on New York's World Trade Center.
    More puzzling?
    Although virtually ignored by the American media (and little known by the American people), Osma bin Laden had detailed his reasons for 9-11 in a "Letter to  America" in November of 2002.
     "Why are we fighting you? The answer is very simple:
     "(1) Because you attacked us and continue to attack us.
     "a) You attacked us in Palestine ... which has sunk under military occupation for more than 80 years. The British handed over Palestine, with your help and support, to the Jews, which have occupied it for more than 50 years; years overflowing with oppression, tyranny, crimes, killing, expulsion, destruction and devastation. The creation of Israel is one of the greatest crimes, and you are the leaders of its criminals. And of course there is no need to explain and prove the degree of American support for Israel.  
    Bottom line?
    The destruction of the World Trade Center's Twin Towers was caused by geopolitics.
    And now we have a Holy War come to Paris...
    Perpetrated in the name of Allah, blessed be his name...
    By a small band of Islamic True Believers willing to sacrifice their apparently meaningless lives in a jihad against the forces of Evil...
    As martyred warriors in a final Manichean battle between the forces of Light and Darkness...
    Contrast the Osama's justification for 9-11 versus ISIS' "Statement on the Blessed Onslaught in Paris against the Crusader Nation of France."
     In a blessed battle whose causes of success were enabled by Allah, a group of believers from the soldiers of the Caliphate (may  Allah strengthen and support it) set out taking the capital of prostitution and vice, the lead carrier of the cross in Europe - Paris... and cast terror into the  hearts of the crusaders in their very own homeland.
      Eight brothers equipped with explosive belts and assault rifles attacked precisely chosen targets in the center of the capital of France.
     The targets included the Bataclan theater for exhibitions, where hundreds of pagans were gathered for a concert of prostitution and vice  by the American Rock Group, Eagles of Death Metal.      
    In short, the dynamics of Paris suggest the so-called "War in the Middle East" has shifted from geopolitics to geofaith.
    Which is one hell of a different ballgame.
    And one not easily resolved by politicians gathered around an old fashioned conference table.
    Sic transit Gloria whatever!
